This organic dessert wine Menade’s suggestion for a perfect late afternoon. Think of pears in syrup. It will be great with salty dishes like a mature cheese platter, but equally perfect with delicious puddings to match!
Dulce Menade is exotic, festive, and jolly and therefore ideal as either an aperitif or dessert wine. It has freshness, some zest to it and also made very carefully to respect strict requirements of organic viticulture, even for dessert wines. A true find!

Winemakers have a saying at Menade: “beber vida”; and so their first (ad)venture into truly breaking the mould and seeking a natural but soundly made expression of local purity reminds us of the smell in the air on the first day of the harvest, and of wet earth; and its flavour is like taking a walk on the Castilian meseta - and then it’s must, grapes, and nature.
Fermentation, as ever, with its natural yeasts, is however, in this instance, arrested by a radical reduction in temperature as soon as they felt that they’ve achieved the perfect sweetness/acid ratio – for although this is a sweet wine with an appreciable proportion of natural residual sugar its success and popularity are due to its freshness, zest and all important balancing acidity.
