Cave De Ribeauville Pinot Noir,, Alsace, France

This organic Pinot Noir from Alsace is a very delicate red wine. It is so delicate we can even put it on our rose wine shelf. Very juicy red wine, with lighter body as compared to most reds, but will definitely be a good food rose. It has complex aromas of black cherries and vanilla. Great structure with fine velvety smooth tannins.

Food Match: as with all good Pinot Noir, you can match it with red meat dishes such as veal and lamb work well, as does poultry. Think of fruity salads, elegant starters or sip in your garden when it is nice and sunny outside (it is only 12% abv)

French organic certified

Producer: The vineyards of Ribeauvillé have been here since the beginning of time. It were the Lords of Ribeaupierre and the Benedictine monks who first made use of the natural resources with its south facing slopes and different top soils. Despite all the upheaval in this part of France since 1895, Cave de Ribeauvillé has managed to preserve its spirit and resolve. From generation to generation, from one vintage to the next, the desire to make great wine has continued unabated.

Viticulture: The Cave de Ribeauvillé covers a single vineyard of 265 hectares with 8 Grands Crus and other quality plots. The total surface area is managed by a quality chart which guarantees strict control of the yields, sustainable growth of the vineyards or even organic farming, and of course……a manual harvest.

Winemaking: Aiming to have perfect healthy intact grapes when they arrive at the winery. The grapes are destalked and macerated for 10 days before pressing and aged on the lees in French oak barrels for 10 months. Winemaker Evelyne Dodelinger is very experienced in vinifying organic wines and regular tastings ensure that the vinification is adapted to the needs of the wine to obtain the maximum terroir expression.

Organic Wine Club

Thanks for posting your comments! This is a truly remarkable wine from one the first vineyards to embrace and convert to biodynamic practice in the Alsace region. Thier love and passion shines through! Whats great about this wine is that when its chilled, it could pass for the most incredible rose wine ever! Thanks again! Alex

Light and Simple Pinot Noir

Very light on both the nose and taste, nothing overpowering or any particular flavour that stands out. Overall this is a nice and simple wine, very easy drinking but not amazing. However it is one of the nicer Pinot Noir’s we have had given we tend to go for bigger and bolder red's. It is good for those occasions where you want something simple and drinkable to help relax in the evening after a long day. A wine that would compliment most dinners or just drink on its own.
