A family run business, headed by owner and winemaker, Zmago Petrič, they are hardworking and stubborn, striving to keep the vineyards the same as did their forefathers; healthy, in good order and in the midst of genuine nature. Vineyards are at high altitude on the steep southern slopes of the Vipava Valley, subjected to the heat of the sun and cooled by the prevailing northern winds.
Viticulture procedures follow the biodynamic calender and is simple, with the focus on allowing the plants to yield only what it can naturally produce, other than by addition of green manure, biodynamic compost and biodynamic pesticides.
The vines are firstly hand harvested and inspected. In the winery, the wine is fermented with their natural yeasts and malolactic fermentation is also spontaneous and the wines are bottled un-filtered. They spend 9 months in the bottle in 2000 litre Slovenian oak.
