Case of Biodynamic Wines | 6 Organic Wines

This Biodynamic wine case of 6 organic wines, with 4 bottles of red and 2 bottles of white wines. Biodynamic wine is very similar to organic, however the growers and winemakers also observe the lunar calendar so that the earth will provide the fullest and greatest quality produce.

  • La Biancara Masieri, Veneto, Italy; the wine tastes very fresh, with toasty almonds and stone fruit, generous citrus notes and just a little bit of crumbly biscuits on top. It is elegantly aromatic and with a subtle richness, yet it is destined to be enjoyed chilled and aid refreshment.
  • Castello di Tassarolo, Gavi, Italy; this Gavi offers a classic white with delicate stone and orchard fruit and some mineralogy. We personally think that it tastes like a good but still sparkler - you do not get bubbles, but instead rich biscuit and nutty flavour profile. With soft apple-crumble flavours, lasting quite long on the palate with its crumbly biscuits, tangy and broad not spritzy and lean, with an enveloping savouriness.
  • Castello di Tassarolo, Monferatto, Italy; this Monferrato Rosso is a blend of organic Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon from Piedmont and produced with no addition of sulphites. This organic red wine is elegant and medium-bodied, grapes were grown using biodynamic methods. Ripe, soft and locally traditional Barbera grapes have been skillfully blended with some Cabernet Sauvignon which lends weight and backbone. The result is balanced, expressive and smooth. This wine has some peppery bitterness from Barbera, juicy character, but also some additional richness.
  • La Ferme St Martin Romanins, France; where organic Grenache meets Syrah and Cinsault in this rustic southern Rhone. Shiny purple colour and warm nose of confit fruits (damsons and black plums) overlaid with garrigue - scented pepper, herbs and spice. A very round, fairly complex and juicy Cotes du Rhone.
  • Rioja Vina Illusion Rioja Joven, Spain;  a classic Rioja and will be an exciting find for everyone who loves Tempranillo in its purest form. It has been made by biodynamic producers.
  • Sedlescombe Regent-Rondo, England;  a true English delicacy from the oldest organic vineyard that also produced England's first biodynamic wine! This wine has a truly vibrant ruby red colour and is light to medium bodied with delicious red berry fruit flavours exquisitely balanced with smokey oak character and a dash of tannin. This wine is best enjoyed when its young, and despite the reputation for lighter bodied English wines, this wine will be great with stews and red meats, as well as showing off its versatility and finesse with cold starters and antipasti.
