Taste of Organic Wine Club: Best of Premium Organic Wine

If you are looking for a case of wine, which from the surface may seem relatively standard, but are made with the highest regard for the integrity and quality, this is something that may need some of your time.

Terre di GnWith this case of 6 organic wines, it consists of 4 organic red wines and 2 organic white wines from across the world. With a huge number of accolades, seperately and collectively, these wines, quite simply, really are the very best of the very best.

  • Disarmonico Rosso Veronese, Terre di Gnilego, Italy - This declassified Valpolicella is from the certified natural winery of Gigi Aldigretthi. Its certified by trust by one of the newest natural certification bodies, Les Vins 'Sans Aucun Intrant Ni Sulfite' or S.A.I.N.S for short. This natural red wine offers a bright and vibrant red colour with an incredible bouquet that offers aromas of red berries, and cherries. The palate has delicate tannins with a great acidity. Its balanced beautifully with the same red fruit flavours and gentle sweet spices in the finish. A great wine with antipasti, bruschetta, tomato pastas or duck with fruit tartare.
  • Lo Cortinelo-Lo, Es Fangar, MallorcaThis Mallorcan organic white wine is straw yellow in colour with white gold highlights. Bright and clear. The aromas found in nose are clear scents of fruits like melon, apple, pear and apricot juice. Harmonic touches of citrus lime and pink grapefruit also appear. White flowers are present providing fragrance and freshness. Once the wine opens up, the aromatic range expands, leading to honey and spices like vanilla. The aromas of fine toasted oak, appear in the background, providing complexity. The palate entry is generous, a grand tour. The ripe fruit is very present. The structure fills the mouth and natural acidity gives us freshness, lots of freshness. A very long and dry finish invites us to continue drinking. Perfect for lighter poultry dishes in the garden.
  • MR De Compostella, Raats Family Vineyard, Stellenbosch - This is wine! It is true to its form and honourable to a fault. It has a deep, dark intense ruby colour. Aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry fruit with hints of violets, cedar and cinnamon. Its rich and complex with minerals, black berry fruits and dark chocolate on the finish. This wine is seamlessly created using just enough of each of the five Bordeaux varietals to ensure none dominates. This wine has a meticulously consistent flavour profile with a round and polished finish. Don't be fooled though, this is steak wine!
  • Crozes-Hermitage, Cave de Tain, France - An exclusive Crozes-Hermitage that is produced with no sulphites added. It displays harmonious bouquet of roasted coffee beans, black fruits, pepper and flowers (violet and peony). Its the perfect food match for fillet of beef, black sausage (black pudding or boudin noir) or a parmentier of duck.
  • Rkatsiteli, Pheasants Tears, Georgia - Lamb and tarragon stews, pickled vegetables or smoked cheese, are just some of the delights that are the enhanced with this organic white wine from Georgia, the supposed birthplace of the beverage. It is golden amber in the glass with a nose of wild honey, but dry, and unexpectedly, full-bodied in the mouth with background notes of walnut and apricot.
  • No SO2 Pinot Noir, Bill Downie, Mornington - Turbid and Bretty is the label belonging to the redoubtable Bill Downie, one of the dozens of Pinot Noir in Australia.  This version is more akin to a Pinot from Jura or Alsace for it has no oak influence but rather expresses rasping red fruit flavours. Simple and all the more charming for that. How about a gorgeous suckling pig and/or roast veg?
