Andrea Oberto has succeeded in creating a complex Piedmontese red wine with impressive length and great structure. This is a weighty, full-fruited wine with a distinctive balsamic nose leading to dark fruit and a lingering, chocolatey finish with firm tannins.
Definitely a food wine and we recommend heartily that it is decanted beforehand.
Food Match: Pair with flavoursome main dishes, good quality gravy and rich sauces.

Winemakers tend to produce juicy and fruity wines when they make them without the addition of sulphur, yet it is not the case with Erbaluna Rosso, it has a lot of depth and weight, intensity of red fruit flavours and an alcohol strength to match - 15% abv.
Erbaluna is a family-owned vineyard from the 19th century turned organic by the current generation, brothers Andrea and Severino Oberto, because they wanted to “rediscover direct contact with the land”. They aim to balance traditional methods with modern techniques, making only full-bodied red wines. Their Barolo exudes ripe plum fruit, and is weighty yet has the elegance that characterises Nebbiolo.
Vineyard size 9.5 hectares. Organic since 1993.
Certified organic. No sulphites added wine
