Redentore Pinot Grigio, Veneto, Italy (no added sulphites)

This no added sulphites Pinot Grigio is intense straw yellow in colour. Elegant fruity aromas are accentuated with nuts and toasted almonds. Flavours are elegant and fresh with an excellent balanced minerality. There is a light pear aromatics too.

Redentore pays tribute to one of the most treasured festivities of Venice, the “Festa del Redentore”. Every third weekend of July Venetians celebrate with an immense fireworks display and sumptuous dinners as the harbour fills with boats.

This wine will really benefit from proper chilling to 8-10°C.

Climate & Soil

Alluvial very rich in clay soil and mild, with very few rain showers and a high summer temperature which allows the grapes to ripen perfectly.

The Vineyard

To obtain a perfect ripening of the grapes, beyond the normal vineyard management, we carry out summer pruning and careful leaf thinning. Furthermore, the yield is kept very low in order to produce grapes rich in body and aroma. It is 4.000-8.400 vines per hectare trained with guyot system.

The Winemaking

Harvested at the beginning of September, when the grapes are very well ripe but they still have a good acidity level.

Destemming and crushing of the grapes, soft pressing of the grapes, cool static clarification and fermentation exclusively with wild yeasts at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats at 18° C. Then the wine refines for several months on its noble lees in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The lees are frequently mixed in order to increase the thickness and the smoothness of the wine.

Lovely wine, lovely bottle!

Received my bottle of wine and was intrigued to find out what a no-sugar wine would taste like. I wasn’t disappointed. Not just no-sugar but lots of other nasties left out too. Thanks Organic Wine Club! It’s lovely :)

A Bit Heavier

A very nice wine but I like my white wines to be light and fruity so I found this a bit heavier than normal but very good with food.

Organic Wine Club

Hi Margaret, This is indeed a heavier white wine, and unlike any pinot grigio I have ever tried before! Its beautiful golden colour, delicious fruit flavours with a balanced acidity makes this a great wine! Match this with rice dishes and white meats. Thanks again! Alex Co-Founder

Bingo!

First off...ordered this in my first batch ordered from the Club...opened and something felt 'not right' about the wine, possibly corked...I immediately contacted the team and they were really professional, offered me an immediate replacement...as I was ordering another mix they simply added the replacement bottle on to my order...Thank you! And what a result, I love this Pinot...well worth making sure I didn't 'give up on'...it's lovely, a real easy drinking wine for a Saturday afternoon :-) Thanks Dimitri...as good as your word, for the promise and the quality! Pip

A surprising bottle

The label said Pinot Grigio, the taste buds said... a far greater depth with smooth fruit and a little tang. This is a grown-up wine but still enjoyable to me as a novice drinker. I will buy more of this because it tastes good. The bottle is a bit of a talking point...is it a half bottle or larger than normal? Depends on how you see life I suppose. The label reminds me of the Harlequin and the wine made me smile.
