Taste of Organic Wine Club: Organic Garnacha 4 Ways

hobby: an activity that someone does for pleasure when they are not working

That is the official definition of 'hobby' by the Oxford English Dictionary. But as hobbies are about enjoyment, what do you do when you get to know that your hobby, not the Garnacha organic wine should be considered a hobby, can have some variances? Thats why we created this case os organic red wines made from organic Garnacha, Spain, to showcase the greatness and variations of this incredible grape.

This case of 8 organic red wines consists of 2 bottles of wines:

  • Pim Pam Poom, Sao del Coaster, Priorat - It's the reason for this collection and part of the reason Organic Wine Club came to exist. It's elegant and fresh wine full of herbs and red fruit flavours, typical minerality and boisterous character. This wine is really easy flowing, generous on fruit and quite elegant for a young wine. It has been produced with no intervention in the winery and is naturally low in sulphites at 10 mg/l.
  • Aroa Tinto, Bodegas Aroa, Navarra - A more modern style Garnacha with clean rounded red fruits. Fermented in stainless steel and vinified without sulphur this is a very fruity expression of Garnacha with lifted aromatic and ripe strawberry fruit-and-pepper. Certified organic and made with no added sulphites. It is light in style, with a pronounced aromas of red fruit and spice. Mellow and also light flavours that linger but not overpower.
  • Fristyle, Cellar Comunica, Montsant - Montsant wines would typically allow images of a rich and full bodied red wine thats perfect for ribs. Fristyle however is different, it's name refers to the fact that this wine is made without added sulphur. Bright red wild strawberry fruit, nice firm core of stoniness and good freshness which expresses spicy red fruit flavours, a touch of sweetness and a youthful kick.
  • Ops, Loxarel, Penedes - It's deep red in colour with purple hints, the wine has aromas of black and red fruits such as blackberry and raspberries, wild rose and herbaceous wild plants. The palate is fresh, balanced and full-bodied with lovely fruit notes.

As mentioned above, Garnacha, or any wine or alcoholic beverage, should not be considered a hobby. We will always encourage sensible drinking habits and if you need some assistance check out these guys.

Please let us know what you think about these organic wines! Cheers.
