Festive Season's Wines | Case of 6/12 Natural Red Wines | Low Sulphur & Vegan Friendly

We all want a celebrate a magical Christmas, and one of the best ways to enjoy the festivities is with truly spectacular Christmas Day lunch. But with all the stress building up to the big day, would you really be prepared to spend your Boxing Day struggling with the side-effects of sulphites?

So this case is a combination of 6 classic festive red wines, all vegan friendly and made with minimal intervention and sulphites added. Not only that, if you are preparing something traditional, or something a little exotic this year, all these wines will match everyone's main focal point of lunch.

Their will be either 1 or 2 bottles of each wine in this case:

  • Cuestra Colora Tempranillo, Castilla La Mancha, Spain; this light and fresh biodynamic and organic Tempranillo is made from grapes grown at the vineyard where the Parra family started growing organic grapes in 1993. This no added sulphites wine is made from grapes grown on old vines - it’s juicy and perfumed with violet and ripe raspberry flavours, very little tannin and a noticeably clean finish.
  • San Ferdinando Podere Gamba Chianti DOCG, Italy; a natural Chianti is hard to find, but this gorgeous unfiltered red wine and its nose of forest fruit, cherry, liquorice and coffee is truly delicious. It is a silky smooth style of Chianti with soft tannins and good juicy flavour profile.
  • Erbaluna Rosso Nebbiolo Barbera, Piedmont, Italy; Andrea Oberto has succeeded in creating a complex Piedmontese red wine with impressive length and great structure. This is a weighty, full-fruited wine with a distinctive balsamic nose leading to dark fruit and a lingering, chocolatey finish with firm tannins. Definitely a food wine and we'd heartily recommend that you decant this wine.
  • Domaine Grande Bellane Valreas, Cotes du Rhone Villages, France; this red wine has expressive aromas to savour, the ripe red and black berry fruits, gentle spice and hints of cherries. It is very smooth on the palate, you can taste plenty of body (read: mouthfeel) and structure. Great flavours of blackberry and cherry and a hint of herb, quite an intense finish without overtaking your meal. Great job to create a balanced and complex red wine.
  • Tour des Gendres Rouge Classique, Bergerac, France; an Organic red wine made from a blend of Merlot and Malbec from classic French region of Bergerac. Dark red colour with violet tints. Expressive, warm nose of wild strawberries and myrtle with smoked notes and spice. Supple in the mouth with thick juicy fruit reinforcing the aromas found on the nose.
  • Malbec 'Tizac', Catamarca, Argentina; this organic Malbec made in Catamarca, Argentina, a lesser known province that is located in North West of the country. The vineyards' altitude is superb, over 5000 feet. It gives the grapes its freshness, vibrancy and subtle complexity from the prolonged growing season. Certified organic wine made of a popular Malbec in a medium bodied style - elegant and broad red and black fruit flavours together with generous touch of sweet spice. This dry red wine is easy to drink, soft mouthfeel and good depth of flavours.

We hope you enjoy these classic natural red wines, and wish you the best, health and happiness over this festive period!
